BRASELTON, Ga. (Oct. 12, 2018) – The No. 54 Composite Resources / Flex-Box ORECA 07 will start 10th in the Motul Petit Le Mans at Road Atlanta, the season finale of the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship.
Colin Braun, who was quickest in Thursday’s practice, was given driving duties for the 15-minute qualifying session.
With 14 entries in the Prototype class, traffic was even an issue in qualifying. Early on, with the tires at optimum temperature, cars returning to the circuit after a spin slowed Braun’s best laps. At the checkered flag, his lap of 1:11.071 (128.659 mph) put the No. 54 10th on the grid despite being only 0.634-second off the fastest time.
Braun will share the car with Jon Bennett and Romain Dumas in Saturday’s 10-hour race. When the checkered flag flies, the 2018 IMSA Champion will be crowned and CORE enters the race just four points out of the lead.

COLIN BRAUN
Driver: ORECA 07 LM P2“Qualifying was really tight. If we’d had a clean lap on those first few we probably would be higher up in the order. More than anything though, we used our qualifying session to test some setups we didn’t have a chance to try in practice, so our main focus was to evaluate those changes. At the end of the day, we would like to have qualified better, but we completed the task at hand.”
