ELKHART LAKE, Wis. (Aug. 4, 2018) – Colin Braun will start third in Sunday’s Continental Tire Road Race Showcase, Round Eight of the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship.
Driving the No. 54 Composite Resources / Flex-Box ORECA 07 P2, Braun was out to capture his third-straight pole position, having won the top spot at Watkins Glen and Canadian Tire Motorsport Park.
Braun topped the timing screens early in the 15-minute qualifying session, but ultimately ended up third at the checkered flag with a time of 1:52.340 (129.720 mph).
The two-hour and 40-minute race will air live on FS1, Sunday, at 2:30pm ET. Braun will share the car with teammate Jon Bennett.

Driver: No. 54 ORECA 07 LM P2“We didn’t work very hard on our qualifying setup, which is pretty standard for us. I think we improved our car a bit from yesterday and will have good pace for the race. I’m actually surprised that we’re as high up the field as we are. We’ll see the true pace of everyone tomorrow though. Great job by everyone at CORE autosport, we’re really happy with a top-three grid spot and it’s a good start to what will hopefully be a great race with our new partner Hexagon Manufacturing Intelligence.”
